Praktiker continues to grow in Turkey!

According to 2008 first half figures, Praktiker continues to grow in Turkey. Praktiker Turkey, the pioneer of “do-it-yourself” market in Turkey, increased its sales by %11, 4.
Praktiker Group has submitted its fiscal figures for the first half of 2008 to the German Stock Exchange. According to the announcement, the company has increased its profitability ratio to 20,5% and achieved an operating profit (EBITA) of €59,2 million in the first six months. During this period, Praktiker Group posted total sales of around €2 billion, €578,3 million of which was achieved outside of Germany. In line with the group’s growth target in international markets, Praktiker Turkey kept growing at first six months of year 2008 and increased its sales ratio by  7,8% in Euro terms and 11,4& in YTL by reaching a turnover of €47,7 million.
 
Praktiker Turkey’s Country Manager Frank Bednar stated that they kept moving forward towards their target, which was set 10 years ago as they just entered to the Turkish market, and added that they would be growing via opening new stores.
 
Bednar said: “As the only public DIY store chain that operates in Turkey, We have always been transparent regarding our financial results. First half results of Praktiker Group prove that we are moving forward to our realistic goals. “Do it yourself” culture is developing in Turkey day by day. Praktiker is the pioneer of this development. We’ll keep on investing in our new store concept in all stores as the customer satisfaction is our top priority. We believe that such investments will increase our sales.
