Measuring the floor: We can use a tape-measure to measure the area where the PVC will be installed.

Placing the PVC: In order to cut the PVC according to the measurements taken, we should unroll it upside-down on a clean and flat surface. If we need a wider area, we can do this in another room, which is larger.

Cutting the PVC: According to the floor measurements taken earlier, let’s cut the PVC with the aid of a straightedge and a utility knife. After the cutting process is over, we should turn the PVC upright again, and place it on the floor to be installed. Installing the PVC flooring within 3-4 hours after cutting it is recommended, since it may lose its flexibility in case we wait longer.

Applying the adhesive: We can begin applying the adhesive on the floor, with a trowel, starting to spread from the wall-side towards the middle. We should note that only a thin layer of adhesive is necessary for the PVC to stick. Waiting for 10 minutes is advised, before sticking the PVC on the floor where the adhesive had been applied.

Cutting PVC flooring for fixed furniture: Let’s cut the PVC flooring with a utility knife around the fixed furniture starting from the corners of the furniture. In order not to leave any gaps, we should try to cut the PVC flooring starting at the deepest end of the furniture base. We may also trim any excessive PVC flooring pieces left near the walls, with a utility knife, as shown here.

Installing multiple PVC sheets: If we need to install multiple sheets of PVC flooring, we should place the sheets so that their ends meet in the middle of the room. After placing the sheets, we should fold both PVC sheet ends back towards the sides, and apply the adhesive on the floor with a trowel, in between the two sheets. After waiting for 10 minutes, we can fold the PVC flooring back onto the floor, to stick the two ends together.

Removing air under the PVC flooring: In order to remove the bumps that might be caused by the air left inside, we can use a squeegee. Let’s move it back and forth, starting in the middle of the floor and moving towards the edges. The removal of any remaining air under the PVC ensures that the adhesive sticks better.

Cutting the overlapping parts: Let’s trim the extra parts of the overlapping multiple PVC flooring that we have joined after applying the adhesive in the middle, with the help of a straightedge and a utility knife.

Installing the baseboard: The baseboards can be easily nailed on the walls using concrete nails and a hammer, for a nicer look.

Fastening the crossing profile: We can attach pieces of double-sided tape under the crossing profiles on the empty, clean side of the PVC flooring and press down with both hands to stick it.
